Veronica Polnick
Attorney and Partner
Veronica Polnick is a seasoned restructuring professional with over 13 years of experience representing debtors and creditors in complex corporate bankruptcy matters. She has led and co-led high-stakes Chapter 11 and Chapter 15 cases across industries including energy, retail, healthcare, and manufacturing, with a practice that spans the full lifecycle of financial distress—from early-stage assessment to filing, plan negotiation, confirmation, and post-emergence litigation.
Veronica is particularly known for her deep knowledge of the Southern District of Texas, where she has frequently partnered with national co-counsel on local strategy, procedure, and drafting. She leads multidisciplinary teams, negotiates with key stakeholders, and handles matters such as nonconsensual debtor-in-possession financing, contested confirmation hearings, and plan and discharge injunction enforcement proceedings. Her litigation experience spans preference and fraudulent transfer actions, stay and discharge violations, complex claim objections, and other core bankruptcy disputes.
She is board certified in consumer bankruptcy law and has been consistently recognized by peer-reviewed legal rankings for her work in restructuring. Veronica is an active member of the Southern District of Texas Complex Case Committee and has held leadership roles within the Houston bankruptcy bar. She also regularly speaks at regional and national insolvency conferences.
